Filmmaker Clint Bentley is coming with a new on-screen adaption, which is being shot in Tekoa, a city in Washington State.
Krem reports that the filming of “Train Dreams” is currently being shot in Tekoa, Washington, and will be shot on Wednesday and Thursday.
The residents of the area are thrilled as they will enjoy the filming taking place in their city and will also watch it on the big screen.
“It’s really fun and exciting for the whole city to have something like this happen here,” Treasurer Eliza Vans-Teague, who is the Tekoa Clerk stated.
The makers chose Henkel Street, Crosby Street, and East Alley for the filming. The cast and crew are blocking the roads to shoot in these streets.
Apart from the streets, they are also taking scenes from Brotherton Seed buildings, the parking lot, and the Empire Theater.
Vans-Teague revealed that they are working on the theatre on Monday, May 6, to transform the old bank building into a general store, “The Mercantile,” owned by Jim Lee.
Vans-Teague added, “They chose the theatre because it’s still historic, It’s pretty close to the right time period.”
The makers are requesting that all residents not park their vehicles where filming is taking place. They have also asked people around Crosby Street not to park near the Empire Theater from 4-9 p.m. on May 9.
After shooting in Eastern Washington, the makers will reach Spokane, a city in Washington, next week to shoot the remaining scenes. Spokane may be the last spot for filming, as most of the filming has been done in Techo.
